Heavy Deep and Real Funny 2.o
by Amanda Sharp
A candid journey through loss, love, betrayal, and the hard work of forgiveness, told with grit and grace.

The book for people who have lived enough life to stop pretending.

This is not a self help book filled with formulas.
It is a brutally honest, wildly funny, deeply reflective look at what happens when life does not go as planned and you decide to grow anyway.

Overhauled, rewritten, and expanded with brand new pieces including “Meanwhile, Back at the Ranch,” this new edition is sharper, braver, and more honest than ever. Every part of the book has been refined or reimagined to reflect hard earned wisdom, deeper faith, and even better humor.

Inside you will find:
• Stories that make you laugh at the worst possible moment
• Reflections that hit harder than you expect
• Simple questions and actions that move insight into growth

Amanda writes the way most people think but are afraid to say out loud. She tackles faith without pretending, grief without dramatics, and healing without bypassing the work. Her shock humor disarms you. Her depth keeps you there. Her honesty makes you feel less alone.

This book is for you if:
You have loved deeply and lost something.
You are tired of surface level conversations.
You want faith that feels real, not rehearsed.
You use humor to survive and you are finally ready to thrive.

Heavy, Deep, & Real Funny 2.0 is about taking responsibility for your story, confronting the elephant in the room, and discovering that laughter and healing are not opposites. They are partners.

If you are ready for truth with wit, depth without shame, and growth that actually sticks, this book belongs in your hands.

NAME YOUR PRICE: Yes, really. Amanda has found this approach to be one of the most meaningful ways to share her work. It allows the content to reach more people while giving those who see its value the opportunity to support the creativity behind it.

Those who choose to pay more, often do so, because the message resonates and they want to invest in the work and the author. A minimum of $10 helps cover printing & shipping costs. If choosing a price feels stressful, consider $20 and trust that generosity has a way of coming back around.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
AMANDA SHARP
Amanda was born in Boulder, Colorado and raised between mountain towns and city streets, with Grand Lake and Breckenridge holding a special place in her story. She graduated from Denver South High School and went on to attend Oral Roberts University, earning a degree in Commercial Art. While there, she was an NCAA volleyball player and the yearbook photographer, a creative with a competitive edge and a camera always nearby.

She is a product of divorce, frequent moves, blended families, new siblings, and constant reinvention. Those early years shaped her resilience, sharpened her emotional intelligence, and built her ability to connect quickly and deeply. Leadership roles, youth groups, sports, academic excellence, and ever changing environments formed the foundation of who she is today. Amanda builds loyal, lasting friendships and has a gift for helping people dream again, especially when life has tried to shrink them.

If you ask almost anyone to describe her, humor will be in the top three words. She is known for shock humor, quick wit, and the ability to bring levity into rooms that have forgotten how to laugh. She dives into heavy, deep, real conversations without flinching and creates a space where people feel safe enough to tell the truth about their struggles. Her presence is disarming, direct, and deeply non judgmental.

Her book was conceived in the middle of personal heartbreak. After fourteen years of marriage and the unraveling of a shared dream, Amanda chose to process pain through honesty and humor for the sake of her two sons and herself. The second edition, written ten years later, is a complete rewrite. Every page has been strengthened, sharpened, and expanded. It includes the long awaited continuation of the ranch story in the added section, Meanwhile, Back at the Ranch, where readers finally learn what really happened.

Now an empty nester and the proud mother of two grown men, Amanda is self employed as a seminar photographer, affiliate marketer, and health and wellness coach. Fifteen years of work in the personal development space have shaped both her character and her comedic edge. She believes self improvement is not optional. It is a responsibility.

Her life pursuit has been excellence in her walk with God, even through doubt, anger, and disappointment. If you are mad at God or disillusioned with church, she understands more than most. She has lived as a pastor’s kid twice. Her writing does not preach. It wrestles, questions, and invites.

Through her book, podcast, and retreats, Amanda helps readers and listeners find freedom in the middle of suffering, develop emotional strength, and rediscover humor as a survival skill. She trusts deeply that the right reader will find this work at the right time. If you are navigating loss, rebuilding after betrayal, or searching for God in the rubble of broken dreams, you may find yourself in these pages.

Dig in. You might laugh more than you expect. And you might meet God in a way you never saw coming.

Who should read this book?

This book is for the person who knows they are ready to grow. Not perform. Not pretend. Grow.

If you have sat in personal development rooms, therapy offices, church pews, or on your bathroom floor at 2 a.m. thinking, there has to be more than this, you will feel at home here. Amanda has been immersed in personal development since 2007 and weaves real tools throughout these pages, not fluff, not clichés, but practical shifts you can apply immediately.

If you love sharp wit, shock humor, and the kind of honesty that makes you laugh and wince at the same time, you will enjoy this. Amanda has been told her entire life that her humor is one of a kind. She uses it not to deflect pain, but to disarm it. Healing does not have to be humorless.

If you wrestle with God, distrust the church, or feel allergic to religion, you are not disqualified here. Amanda is a pastor’s kid twice over and has seen the beauty and the hypocrisy up close. This book is not written to convert you. It is written to love you. You will find thoughtful wrestling, hard questions, and a faith that survived doubt, anger, and betrayal.

If you have experienced loss, divorce, betrayal, or the collapse of a dream you built your life around, this book was written with you in mind. Structured like a creative devotional, it blends story, humor, reflection questions, and even music to help you process what you have lived through.

This is for men and women who are tired of living in reaction mode. For those who want to forgive without denying what happened. For those who want to heal without becoming hardened.

Vulnerability is Amanda’s superpower. She does not write from a pedestal. She writes from the middle of real life, inviting you to face your story, laugh where you can, grieve where you must, and step into freedom with both honesty and courage.

If you are ready to look at your pain differently, and maybe even encounter God in a way you did not expect, this book is for you.

Who should not read this book?

If you are looking for perfect grammar, polished theology, or carefully curated sentences that never color outside the lines, this is not your book. If you red pen for sport, you will miss the heart. Yes, I may use slang. Yes, I may break a few rules. Sometimes on purpose.

If you are committed to staying bitter, offended, or comfortably stuck, this will likely irritate you. Growth requires humility. Humor requires openness. Healing requires participation.

If you suffer from legalism on any level, this book is a disrupter to that concept. Amanda is all about living in the grace room and relationship over rules.

If you pride yourself on being the most critical person in the room, determined to misunderstand rather than lean in, you will not enjoy this experience.

If being right matters more to you than being free, this book will feel confronting.

And if you believe people should wait until they are flawless before they create, speak, write, or share their story, you may be uncomfortable here.

This book was written in process, not perfection. That is the point.

What are people saying about it?

"Heavy Deep & Real Funny 2.0" isn't just the title of Amanda's book, it's an apt description of the woman herself. I was smitten with Amanda's warmth within mere seconds of meeting her. Her genuine care for others, coupled with her razor-sharp wit and sarcasm, made her instantly one of my favorite people. What sets Amanda apart is her unapologetic honesty about life's twists and turns. Her journey through the highs and lows is laid bare with such raw authenticity that it's like a breath of fresh air. It's an invitation to let our hair down and simply be ourselves—authentically and unapologetically. - Amanda J.

Fresh, Funny and Faithful.  This book is FRESH, FUNNY, and full of real FAITH. Few people have the ability to share personal stories in print and yet make you feel like you are right there with them, relating personally all the way. It doesn't read like a manufactured book that has neat and tidy chapter after neat and tidy chapter. So be willing to read in a different format and style. But that's what makes this book so refreshing- nothing about life, mine nor Amanda's seems to have been neat and tidy in the first place. This would make a great gift to someone who needs a refreshing twist on devotionals or journaling. -Eric S.

Poignant and inspiring.  This book is honest, brave, and very touching, as is the author. She tells you about her life, herself, and her faith. Many people find it hard to open up about those things with friends, much less publish them for all the world to see. If you’re ready, she will facilitate a journey of soul searching and self-discovery that will change your outlook.  --Margaret M.

Breathe of fresh air!  Amanda is a breathe of fresh air! Love her stories and her sense of humor. - Stephanie B.

You will love this book!  Amanda's book is thought provoking and stretched me out of my comfort zone, but it's laced with just the right amount of humor to "make the medicine go down" more easily. I just completed a book group using Amanda's book as our study guide. The questions at the end of each chapter helped me take an honest look at issues I've struggled with and brought clarity to overcome them. Great job, Amanda!  -Lynda F.

a.k.a. Amanda Sharp bares her soul and creates a space for the reader to tenderly explore their own. She's real, she's honest, and she shares unflinchingly - her hopes, dreams, love, humour, family moments, her pain, her grief, her challenges. By turns sweet and tender, bitingly funny, inspirational, and very real, Heavy, Deep & Real Funny is a wonderful read you'll want to share. And I'll never, ever think of hamsters or the burning bush the same way again LOL!
